NSW: Murdered transvestite prostitute identified
SYDNEY, Dec 3 AAP - A transvestite prostitute murdered on Sydney's inner-city streets
was today identified as Indonesian-born Lee Zainal.
The 46-year-old was stabbed more than ten times in the neck during a frenzied attack
in Darlinghurst on the weekend.
King Cross police today said they were still hunting for clues and witnesses to Sunday's
1.40am (AEDT) attack.
The man, who is believed to have worked the same streets for about a year, was wearing
a dark zebra-striped top and short black skirt when killed.
The police found a dark brown bob wig and a handbag at the scene, which they believed
were the victim's, but said he was not carrying any identification.
His body was found at the intersection of Crown and Stanley Streets in Darlinghurst,
although police said they believed the attack took place in nearby Rosella Lane.
